I will NEVER disrespect Tommy;s Thursday Thoughts again!

In this blog, I am just going to share my side of everything from my point of view.

Tommy is always doing random funny content in the Barstool Sports office. So I obviously did not think too much of when he approached me about which shows should not have been cancelled earlier in 2022. I always laughed at Tommy's Thursday Thoughts on Twitter but I did not even realize it was a show. I thought it was more of a weekly video clip. Boy....was I wrong.

I instead mentioned Rasslin', Podfathers & FFFpod. I had no idea how much of a hornet's nest I had just pissed on.

When I was emailed by "Tim Bennz" of Louisiana Life Magazine about a feature article, I actually did take the time to look up the magazine. I saw it had a decent following on Twitter and Instagram so I figured it was legit. I did not look up Tim Benz online though....this proved to be quite the fundamental mistake. How the hell did Tommy know that would be how I researched it? Stroke of genius I must say.

We scheduled the interview for the night of Monday December 12th in the Barstool Sports office. Looking back, I should have seen a red flag with Tim saying he was from Long Island and was in the process of getting down to Louisiana. Not sure how I missed that. Maybe because my mind was preoccupied with all hell breaking loose in the office earlier that day?

I fell for the interview hook, line & sinker. I basically told Tim my life story from 2009 when I moved to New Orleans til now. I am such a sucker. The guy barely had to ask any questions. He did a good job of keeping a straight face. I also gave him a tour of the office which he used to "canvas" it.

I am chuckling just looking at this picture as I got duped so bad. All I can do is laugh at myself at this point.

When All Business Pete sent this company wide email, I did not think I was a suspect at all.  I was alarmed by the email as he had never sent one like that before. It definitely did not seem like a prank.

And when our CEO Erika Nardini chimed in on email, I 1000% thought it was legitimate.

I did not think too much of it when I went to the office the next morning as it was my last day. I was hosting Picks Central and the Barstool Rundown with Billy Football & PFT Commenter. 

Mike the Barstool Security Guard pulled me into Dave Portnoy's office right after I saw Kelly Keegs and Ria complaining about laptops being stolen. Mike pulled off an award winning job asking if anyone had been in the office after hours the night before. I immediately shared the email and told him about the Louisiana Life story to show I had nothing to hide. 

He thanked me and said he was talking to everyone as a precaution as the theft occurred after midnight so they were not around. He also mentioned he thought it was someone's key card.

I thought it was odd but was not still too concerned when I went to host my final Picks Central.

Right after the show, Mike called me back into Dave's office again and hit me with the news that Tim Benz was a fake. He then hit me with the bombshell that Tim was the #1 suspect of the lap top thefts.

A million thoughts raced through my head. I felt like I was free-falling into a bottomless pit with what had happened the last 48 hours in the office. When would it end?

Then Mike hit me with the always dreaded "You better quit talking and find a lawyer." And he told me I had to go downtown with NYC cops to make a statement?!?!? 

I was honestly in shock but at least I did not panic. When they told me they had to handcuff me, I was confused. I point blank asked "Am I under arrest?" 

The cops said I was not so I was wondering WHY THE HELL ARE THEY HANDCUFFING ME?!?! They claimed it was "for their safety" but WHAT THE HELL WAS I GOING TO DO?!?!? I am as harmless as they come….

As I saw Tommy & Rone at the elevator on mics, pangs of relief flooded my vein. And I honestly just had to laugh. I was not even mad. I gotta respect the effort by Tommy Smokes here. The intricacy and attention to detail was mind blowing!

I preach this literally all the time. If I took myself literally, I would NEVER survive Barstool because I am a lightning rod and get LITERALLY poured on all the time. I realize I am the butt of jokes more often than not but that is part of the deal I signed up for. I can take the public heat. There's no shot I would still be here if I couldn't. 

Just because Tommy thanked me for being a good sport does not mean he is not a diabolic psychopath! 

To say I was relieved during the Barstool Rundown would be the understatement of the century….

And PLEASE DO NOT buy one of these shirts!
